Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain delivered a sensational 6 for 35 as Bangladesh crushed the West Indies by 74 runs in the first ODI, taking an early 1–0 lead in the three-match series.
Defending a modest total of 207, Rishad ran through the West Indies’ middle and lower order after pacers provided early breakthroughs. Despite brief resistance from the visitors, Bangladesh held firm. Earlier, the top order laid the foundation with Towhid Hridoy’s 51, Mahidul Islam Ankon’s 46, and Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 32.
The win gives Bangladesh significant momentum ahead of the second ODI.
