A truck carrying LPG cylinders caught fire late Tuesday night following a collision with a tanker on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, sending shockwaves across the area. The collision triggered multiple explosions as the gas cylinders burst, with some flying several metres from the impact site. Flames and explosions were reportedly visible and audible from kilometres away, creating a scene of chaos for nearby residents and travellers.

Several Injured as LPG Cylinders Explode in Highway Collision

IG Jaipur, Rahul Prakash, confirmed that two to three people, including the tanker driver, sustained injuries in the incident. CMHO Jaipur-I, Ravi Shekhawat, added that the driver of the truck involved was taken to a nearby hospital for primary treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far.


Deputy CM Confirms Situation Under Control Amid Fire and Traffic Halt

Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, who arrived at the scene following instructions from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, said the fire was under control. Police and fire brigade teams swiftly reached the Dudu area, halting traffic on the highway to ensure safety. Bairwa also revealed that the drivers and cleaners of both vehicles were currently unaccounted for, with authorities actively searching for them.

CMHO Shekhawat stated that SMS Hospital was fully prepared to handle casualties, although no major injuries had been reported yet. According to preliminary reports, one man received primary treatment at a local hospital in Dudu. Eyewitnesses reported that the LPG truck had been parked outside a roadside hotel while its driver went for a meal, when the tanker collided with it from behind.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep concern over the fire incident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway. He confirmed that disaster management teams were actively conducting rescue operations and instructed the district administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured and support for those affected. In a post on X, he described the accident as “extremely tragic” and urged authorities to provide all possible assistance to citizens impacted by the incident.
