Lewis Hamilton has shared heart-wrenching photos of his beloved dog Roscoe on a ventilator after the pooch fell into a coma. The Formula 1 ace has been keeping a bedside vigil for his furry friend, who he rushed to a vet earlier this week when the 13-year-old's health took a turn for the worse.
Hamilton even cancelled a planned trip to Italy for a Ferrari testing session at Mugello on Friday. He had previously shared with fans on social media about the "scary few hours" he had experienced and asked them to keep Roscoe in their "thoughts and prayers". He also posted a picture of his pup wrapped in blankets inside an oxygen kennel.
However, in a recent update, Hamilton confirmed the distressing news that Roscoe's condition has deteriorated. He wrote: "Please keep Roscoe in your thoughts. I want to keep you all updated. Roscoe caught pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe.
"He was admitted into hospital and sedated to calm him while they did checks on him and during the process his heart stopped. They managed to get a heartbeat back and now he is in a coma. We do not know whether he will wake from this. Tomorrow, we will try to wake him up. I am by his side and want to thank you all for your prayers and support."
Accompanying the post were more images of Roscoe, unconscious and breathing with the help of a ventilator. In the pictures, Hamilton can be seen comforting his cherished companion, who has now battled pneumonia twice this year after recovering from the illness earlier in 2025.
Speaking at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola in May, Hamilton told reporters: "He's 12-and-a-half years old so he's an old boy. He had pneumonia, but he's fine now. But definitely this is a time where every time I get a text message from the lady who's looking after him, my heart stops for a second. You know, what's next?".

Roscoe recovered from that initial bout of pneumonia and was even healthy enough to make an appearance at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July.
The bulldog appeared on stage alongside Hamilton during a fan event at the Northamptonshire circuit, sporting a special red harness featuring Hamilton's LH44 branding, marking his debut at an F1 race since his owner's move to Ferrari.
Hamilton had also mentioned at Imola that he was hoping to bring Roscoe along to the Italian Grand Prix, for his maiden race as a Ferrari driver at their home circuit Monza.
However, the bulldog was conspicuously absent from the track north-east of Milan and now, several weeks later, Roscoe is battling for his life.
