McDonald's launching new breakfast item in all UK restaurants this Wednesday

McDonald’s has announced its new Sausage Sandwich breakfast item will be available nationwide from this Wednesday.

The fast food chain first announced it was trialling the brekkie option - which consists of a pork sausage patty in a soft bun, with cheese and your choice of ketchup or brown sauce - earlier this year, and now it is rolling it out across restaurants.

The Sausage Sandwich is available on the McDonald’s Saver Menu from £1.99, or £2.99 as a bundle deal with a drink.

Ben Fox, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer for McDonald’s UK & Ireland, said: “We know our customers love a bit of fun as much as they love great value.

“The new Sausage Sandwich may look like a burger, but it proves that looks can be deceiving. It’s savoury, saucy and a proper breakfast treat, made with our delicious RSPCA assured pork patty – all from just £1.99 and of course only available until 11am!”

It comes after Maccies revealed its popular McDonald's Monopoly game is also returning from this Wednesday. McDonald’s Monopoly works in a similar way to the classic Monopoly board, in that you have to collect property sets and train stations.

Once you collect a set, you win a prize. The rarer that set is, the fewer stickers will be available to find - but the bigger the prize will be. You collect property pieces and train stations in the form of stickers on the back of qualifying McDonald's products.

The McDonald's Monopoly menu will include the new Loaded Caramel McFlurry which consists of caramel cubes, white chocolate covered shortbread pieces, milk chocolate chips, soft dairy ice cream topped with caramel sauce.

There is also the Honeycomb Latte with honeycomb syrup, which will be included in the Monopoly menu. In terms of food, the Philly Cheese Stack has also returned, which features beef patties with a cheese sauce, cheese slice, grilled and crispy onions and pickles served in a toasted bun.

Maccies fans will also be able to tuck into the Chicken Big Mac, which consists of chicken patties, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles, Big Mac sauce.

Mozzarella Dippers are back as well. These consists of sticks of mozzarella cheese coated in breadcrumbs and paired with salsa dip. Finally, there is the Fajita Chicken One which is a tortilla wrap filled with crispy or grilled chicken, fajita sauce, tomato salsa, onions, cheese and fresh lettuce.
