Melania Trump has been caught on camera looking sombre as Donald Trump lashed out at the UN during a speech today. The moment sparked discussions online, with one viewer joking that the First Lady couldn't "even look at him" during his speech, in which he claimed to have ended seven wars in seven months.
The video showed Ms Trump looking serious and flicking her eyes from left to right without conveying much emotion. One viewer commented: "I love when the cameras go to Melania and how she's looking at him and there's no doubt in my mind what she's thinking." A second added: "Oh dear is Melania getting pissed again! It has been a remarkably long truce tbf". A third said that Melania "can't even look at him".
The wars that President Trump claimed to have ended were between: Israel and Iran; Pakistan and India; Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); Thailand and Cambodia; Armenia and Azerbaijan; Egypt and Ethiopia; and Serbia and Kosovo.
A number of these "wars" lasted days and were the result of long-standing tensions. It is unclear whether some of the peace deals will hold.
Donald Trump also took the opportunity to lash out again at London Mayor Sadiq Khan. "I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor, terrible, terrible mayor, and it's been so changed, so changed," he said.
"Now they want to go to Sharia law, but you're in a different country. You can't do that. Both the immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe if something is not done immediately," he added.
"It's time to end the failed experiment of open borders. You have to end it now. See, I can tell you I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell."
Donald Trump accused the world body of promising "empty words" during his speech on Tuesday, September 23.
He said: "I didn't even get a call from the United Nations. I got a broken teleprompter and an escalator that stopped right in the middle.
"All they do is write strongly worded letters and never follow them up. Empty words and empty words don't solve wars."
He also asked the General Assembly: "What is the purpose of the United Nations?"
It is his first appearance at the UN since the beginning of his second term in January. He had been allocated a 15-minute time slot, but he overran.
