Prince Harry told royal fans "I'm so late" shortly after rushing off to meet King Charles at Clarence House. The Duke of Sussex paid a visit to Imperial College London's Centre for Blast Injury Studies in White City this afternoon before the meeting with his father. This is less than 10 miles from where the King arrived in London from Balmoral by plane.
Harry briefly stopped to shake hands with fans before telling them: "I have to go, I'm so late... I've got to go, I've got to go. Nice to meet you guys." The Duke arrived at Clarence House at around 5.20pm ahead of his first meeting with his father since February 2024, when the King announced he was undergoing cancer treatment.
Rumours of a royal reunion began swirling after Prince Harry returned to the UK on September 8 for charity visits.
He arrived in London on Monday for the WellChild Awards before going to Nottingham on Tuesday for an engagement.
King Charles arrived at Clarence House at 3.45pm after landing at RAF Northolt at around 3pm.
Later today, the Duke will attend a reception event linked to the Invictus Games, which he launched in 2014 as a tournament for injured service personnel and veterans.
When Harry lost his security appeal with the Home Office in May, he gave a bombshell interview where he alluded to the King's health.
"I would love a reconciliation with my family," he said. "I don't know how much longer my father has. He won't speak to me because of this security stuff... but it would be nice to reconcile."
Now it appears his wish has come true, as father and son are finally in the same room again in a sign that royal relations may start to finally improve.
